Just back from Glyndebourne (didn't think I'd be writing that this year) for one of their garden concerts, a one hour programme of Beethoven, Jonathan Dove (a piece written for this Garden) and a Mozart arrangement by Josef Triebensee.

Just back from the last night of this year’s revival of the ENO Carmen at the Coliseum.

Translated to the end of the Franco era it is not for mid 19th century purists (first performed in 1875 it is re-set to the 1970s – save for smart phones and selfies).
